Przemyslowy Instytut Automatyki i Pomiarow – PIAP, Poland - is the public research institute, which belongs to the Top Ten of Polish research institutes, developing new technologies since 1965. Presently PIAP employs 260 people, among them more than 150 scientists and with a 10M€ turnover. PIAP specialists have wide, interdisciplinary experience in realization of unique solutions in the field of information technology, defence technologies, robotics, security, telemetry as well as artificial intelligence. Activities include the realization of unique technical solutions and R&D work in projects co-financed by European Commission, European Defence Agency as well as Polish Ministry of Defence and Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

PIAP is widely cooperating with industrial and scientific organizations and research groups from European Union and Candidate Countries. This cooperation is focused mainly on the development as well as on the scientific research within the projects co-financed by European Commission within Framework Programs. PIAP was actively participating in 4th, 5th and 6th Framework Programs (15 projects finalized) as well as is subcontractor in the projects of European Defence Agency EDA (5 projects under realization). PIAP is also recognized as coordinator of several projects.

Robotics is key area of science and research activity in PIAP form over 30 years. In the late 70. of the XX century PIAP has took from ASEA’s (today ABB) licence IRb-6/60 industrial robots. They were manufactured and implemented by PIAP. The R&D works were carried out, simultaneously. They included development of mechanical part (120 kg model, robot on the truck), development of control (kinematics, path planning, operation and programming methods) and new applications. On the beginning of 90. PIAP  has started with mobile robotics. First own model Inspector, dedicated for antiterrorist tasks, was awarded within NASA Space Telerobotics Program as The Cool Robot of The Week” (15.11.1999). Today R&D activity in robotics is focused more on non-industrial applications (assistive, medical, police/military and other service robots). The works are realised for specific customer orders, as well as within national and international scientific and R&D programs. In EC Framework Programmes PIAP is active from 1993, first projects were realised within 3rd FP TELEMAN, path PECO-COPER.NICUS 1992/1993. They were INGIR and IMACT project, both connected with use of robots in the nuclear hazardous and disordered environments. From then on PIAP was involved in over 40 EC projects, within FP, LLP, EDA, EUREKA.


Polska Izba Spawalnicza, Poland - associates 56 companies, mainly SMEs dealing with widely understood welding technologies, welding processes, welding equipment. Among them there are companies of such a main activity as manufacturing,  supplying, consulting, education. The main aim of PIS is the representation of member companies, assistance in business management, initiating of cooperation, support in implementation of European Standards and regulations etc.
PIS initiated and organized a number of seminars, short courses and other teaching activities in the area of innovations and technologies transfer. PIS closely cooperate with technical universities and state schools of higher professional education in organizing various teaching activities including LLP.



Technical University of Gabrovo, Bulgaria - Technical University of Gabrovo is a public university providing degree courses for Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering, electronics, automation, computer science, mechanical engineering, management and social sciences. It has about 5000 students and 250 teaching staff. TU-Gabrovo has 3 faculties. Its support units include a Centre for Quality of Training, a Centre of Postgraduate Qualifications, a Centre for Entrepreneurship Promotion and a Technology Transfer Office. TU-Gabrovo realizes high mobility of students and academic staff within the LLP programme. It coordinates and participates in various educational and scientific projects at national and European level. The department of Automation, Information and Control Systems has 6 laboratories for instruction and research containing modern equipment (SIEMENS, BECKHOFF Automation, UNITRONICS and AMK).


European Center for Quality Ltd., Bulgaria - Center for Quality Ltd. is a modern consulting company founded in 2001. The company is specialized in two spheres - development and management of projects under different EU programmes and in development and implementation of international standards for quality management. The company works in close cooperation with a number of foreign partners, among which are educational institutions and universities, qualification centers, non-governmental organizations, consulting companies, etc. ECQ is experienced in training SME managers and employees in the application of different quality standards.

Our image of a reliable partner is founded upon professional consultancy experience of 12 years in cooperation with municipalities, associations, chamber of commerce, research centers, enterprises, educational centres, NGOs, etc. Since its establishment ECQ Ltd. has developed, implemented and / or supported the realization of projects for more than 70 enterprises, more than 13 municipal projects and over 15 projects under Lifelong learning programme (including centralised key action 4).


Guido Carli Free International University for Social Studies, Italy - LUISS Business School has a worldwide recognition as a knowledge hub for postgraduate studies. One of the main characteristics of the LUISS Business School is its long-lasting relationship with the Italian and international business community, that allows theory to inform practice and vice versa. LUISS Business School relies both on the experience of the University’s professors, and on the know-how of practitioners working in the fields of finance, consulting, and accounting. In the last years, many efforts have been made to improve the Business School in order to keep its competitive aspect in the ever-changing world. LUISS University comprises 4 Departments and encompasses a wide array of academic, extracurricular and support resources. LUISS is involved in several research activities in collaboration with national and international partners on e-learning practices, providing up-to-date contents to students and managers through a managerial and business approach. Learning activities are provided also through specific courses focused on innovation and managerial practices.
